Client Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Client Accountant to join our Mauritius office, providing comprehensive accounting, tax and audit support to a diverse portfolio of clients. The role involves preparing financial statements, handling tax returns and delivering day‑to‑day advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts, financial statements and tax returns for assigned clients.
• Respond to client queries and advise on accounting, income tax, PAYE, VAT and related technical matters.
• Assist with audit engagements and compile required financial information.
• Manage the department’s work plan to ensure timely execution of tasks.
• Supervise junior staff, ensuring compliance with accounting, audit and statutory regulations.
• Provide regular progress updates to supervisors, managers and partners.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by senior team members.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting or ACCA Level 2 (or equivalent).
• Minimum four years of experience in accounting and account preparation.
• Experience in auditing is an advantage.
• Ability to work overtime when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with accounting software.
