Crane Inspector – US Navy Program (Diego Garcia)

About the role

We are looking for a Crane Inspector to support a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves conducting inspections, testing, and certification of various crane types to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform periodic visual and operational inspections of mobile, overhead, and tower cranes, including structural, hydraulic, electrical, and safety components.
• Conduct load testing and performance assessments, documenting results and submitting reports to stakeholders.
• Inspect new and repaired cranes to verify readiness and compliance with manufacturer and regulatory specifications.
• Apply industry standards such as ASME B30, OSHA regulations, and NAVFAC P‑307 during inspections.
• Advise maintenance and operations teams on corrective actions for non‑compliant equipment.
• Provide testing and oversight of rigging operations and certify rigging hardware.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with supervisors, operators, and safety professionals to resolve crane operation issues.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in crane inspections, heavy equipment assessments, or related fields.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity and ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and obtain necessary facility credentials.
