Facility Lead, Mechanical & Plumbing

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Facility Lead for Mechanical & Plumbing to oversee the performance and integrity of mechanical and plumbing systems supporting a US Navy program on Diego Garcia. You will manage a team of technicians, ensure compliance with safety standards, and keep critical infrastructure operating smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance, repair, and operation of all mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC, boilers, water supply, drainage, septic, and pumps.
• Manage preventative maintenance programs and conduct regular system inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, repairs, and inspections using a CMMS.
• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical and plumbing technicians, ensuring timely task completion.
• Coordinate with other facility departments, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for system work.
• Respond to emergencies and manage procurement of spare parts and tools.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in mechanical or plumbing systems operation, maintenance, and repair in industrial or commercial facilities.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education or certifications in mechanical/plumbing systems preferred.
