Senior Accountant – Treasury

About the role

The Senior Accountant – Treasury will lead day‑to‑day treasury operations, cash management and bank control for African Leadership University. Reporting to the Finance Operations Director and working closely with the VP Finance, you will ensure cash positions are accurate, reconciled and actionable on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain end‑to‑end cash visibility and control across all ALU entities, accounts and payment channels.
• Drive daily bank and wallet reconciliations to completion.
• Support disciplined payment execution and enforce treasury operating standards.
• Anchor month‑end close activities and contribute to core accounting areas such as intercompany, tax support and balance‑sheet reporting.
• Prepare and deliver reporting for selected entities/subsidiaries.

Required profile

• Hands‑on operator with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work across fragmented systems and incomplete data environments.
• Proven experience in treasury, cash management and month‑end close processes.
• Senior‑level accounting expertise, preferably in a higher‑education or nonprofit setting.
