Shop Assistant – Retail (Italian Products)

About the role

The Shop Assistant will support daily operations of a specialty shop offering Italian products. You will interact directly with customers, process sales, and help keep the store attractive and well‑stocked.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash and card transactions efficiently using the register.
• Promote products, loyalty programmes and special offers to meet sales targets.
• Receive, unpack and arrange new stock deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies.
• Keep the shop floor tidy, organized and visually appealing.
• Handle fresh items according to health and safety standards, ensuring proper rotation and presentation.
• Assist in setting up and updating visual merchandising displays.
• Collaborate with the Shop Supervisor and team members to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Friendly, engaging personality with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and multitask.
• Willingness to learn about Italian products and fresh produce.
