Chef de Rang – Head Waiter

About the role

Constance Prince Maurice, a 5‑star luxury resort in Mauritius, is looking for an experienced Chef de Rang to lead its restaurant service team and ensure exceptional dining experiences for discerning guests.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all aspects of restaurant service, maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of waiters and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Manage guest relations, addressing queries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.
• Implement and maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels, placing orders as necessary.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and local regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in a high‑end restaurant or luxury hotel setting.
• Proven track record in a supervisory role within food service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are highly advantageous.
• Up‑to‑date food safety and hygiene certifications.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail expertise.
• Proficiency in restaurant management software and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
