Compliance Officer/MLRO Support Officer (Senior Associate)

About the role

Apex Group is seeking an experienced professional to join its External Compliance Solutions Team as a Senior Associate. The role supports the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Compliance Officer (CO) for regulated entities holding financial services licences in Mauritius.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the MLRO/CO in implementing and maintaining effective AML/CFT/CPF controls.
• Conduct transaction monitoring reviews and second‑line compliance monitoring.
• Perform periodic and event‑driven Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews.
• Prepare, review and update Business Risk Assessments, AML/CFT/CPF Risk Assessments and related documentation.
• Support sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEP), adverse media and other screening activities.
• Identify, assess, escalate and track compliance and AML matters, including suspicious activity reports.
• Assist with regulatory inspections, examinations and information requests from the Financial Services Commission and other authorities.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports, compliance reports, board papers and management information.
• Maintain records and documentation evidencing compliance with regulatory and AML requirements.

Required profile

• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic, deadline‑driven environment.
• Technical knowledge of Mauritius’ regulatory framework and financial services licensing.
• Professional experience in AML/CFT compliance and regulatory oversight.
