Manager – Special Licensed Activities & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our Special Licensed Activities and Compliance function at Abelheim Fund Services Limited in Mauritius. The role will oversee the delivery, regulatory oversight and growth of FSC‑licensed lines of business, ensuring full compliance with Mauritian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on licensing conditions and prepare fee proposals for new business.
• Manage the full lifecycle of FSC‑licensed entities, including CIS, closed‑end funds, custodians, investment dealers and other regulated activities.
• Prepare, review and submit licence applications, variations, surrenders and ongoing returns to the FSC and other authorities.
• Serve as primary contact with the FSC, Mauritius Revenue Authority, FIU and other regulators.
• Coordinate onboarding, operations and reporting with fund promoters, investment managers, auditors, legal counsel, custodians and prime brokers.
• Review constitutive documents, service agreements and board packs; oversee NAV processes, subscriptions, redemptions and distributions.
• Drive development of new products and revenue streams and support business development and client pitches.
• Act as Compliance Officer and/or Money Laundering Reporting Officer (or Deputy) for the company and its licensed sub‑entities, subject to FSC approval.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing FSC‑licensed activities or similar regulated fund services.
• Strong knowledge of Mauritian financial regulations, AML/CFT requirements and licensing procedures.
• Ability to interact with regulators, auditors, legal counsel and external service providers.
• Excellent analytical and organisational skills with a focus on compliance culture.
