Payroll Specialist

About the role

The Payroll Specialist will join Apex Group’s UK payroll team, handling end‑to‑end payroll processing for a portfolio of over 40 clients. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll runs, support the UK payroll support specialist, and maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll data from start to finish for a large client portfolio, adhering to established process flows.
• Prepare employee and partner net‑pay payments, set up payment transfers, and generate partner statements.
• Conduct post‑payroll checks, reconcile client monies, and perform daily bank reconciliations.
• Liaise with pension providers for auto‑enrolment processes and manage pension payments.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll calendar, HMRC filing and payment deadlines, and UK holiday considerations.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to team members, covering absences and busy periods.
• Stay updated on technical developments through literature and targeted training, and share knowledge with the team.
