Qualified Midwife – Maternal Health Role in Mauritius

About the role

We are seeking experienced Midwives to join a leading healthcare provider in Mauritius. The role involves delivering safe, compassionate, and high‑quality care to women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the post‑natal period.

Key responsibilities

• Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and post‑natal care to mothers and newborns.
• Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing during labour and delivery.
• Assist with normal deliveries and deliver immediate newborn care.
• Identify complications and escalate care appropriately.
• Educate and support mothers and families on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, paediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards, patient safety protocols, and infection‑prevention measures.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Midwifery from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Midwife in a hospital setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment.
• Native‑level French proficiency and strong working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to relocate to Mauritius.
