Accountant – Remote Client Accounting (Mauritius Shared Services)

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Mauritius Shared Services team, delivering remote client accounting for private, corporate and fund clients. The role involves bookkeeping, preparation of financial statements and management accounts, and quarterly reporting across various sectors such as real estate, wealth management and capital markets.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post final bookkeeping entries and period‑end closing items, including pre‑payments, accruals, loans and bank transactions.
• Produce simple to medium‑complex annual financial statements and management accounts in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP or other applicable standards.
• Perform bank, investment and other reconciliations for assigned client portfolios.
• Support client accounting staff with ad‑hoc tasks, projects and preparation of working papers and checklists.
• Achieve financial and utilisation targets set by management.

Required profile

• Completed ACCA Level 2 or a first degree in accounting.
• 2–3 years of experience in bookkeeping or financial reporting.
• Experience working with UK, Malta or Cayman client locations is preferred.
• Ability to work remotely and align with UK time zones for client meetings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Viewpoint and eFront (advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting frameworks.
• Fluent in English and French (reading, speaking, writing).
