French Teacher (Year 7‑13)

About the role

Northfields International School, a leading independent co‑educational day school in Mauritius, is seeking an exceptional First‑Language French Teacher. The successful candidate will deliver French instruction to students from Year 7 through Year 13, supporting both the Cambridge and IB pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess French lessons with clear learning objectives.
• Design challenging tasks that build on prior attainment and maintain student interest.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learner needs and promote motivation.
• Employ a variety of instructional methods, including questioning techniques, resource selection and study‑skill development.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, encourage active participation and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Contribute to curriculum development, setting targets and success criteria.
• Act as a class tutor, supporting the academic progress and well‑being of assigned students.

Required profile

• First‑language proficiency in French with extensive teaching experience in international school settings.
• Demonstrated ability to teach across secondary and sixth‑form levels (Year 7‑13).
• Commitment to the school’s holistic educational philosophy and global citizenship mission.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues.
