Kitchen Coordinator

About the role

Constance Le Chaland, a luxury resort on the south‑eastern coast of Mauritius, is looking for a Kitchen Coordinator to support the Executive Chef and ensure smooth daily kitchen operations. The role blends administrative duties with hands‑on coordination of food deliveries and internal logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef and his assistant with daily administrative tasks.
• Manage store item dispatching and storage within the kitchen.
• Coordinate fresh food deliveries, schedule kitchen transports, and ensure hygiene and order accuracy.
• Collect data from chefs to prepare daily market lists and communicate with the store clerk.
• Handle food item collection from the store and delivery to the appropriate outlets.
• Maintain confidentiality of all executive information.
• Support other kitchen sections as needed.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional training or certificates are a plus.
• Food handler certificate is advantageous.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a hotel kitchen or similar environment; luxury resort experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluency in English, written and verbal; additional language is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using Lotus Notes.
• Basic digital photo editing and document processing.
• Knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
