Kitchen Intern – Luxury Resort

About the role

The Kitchen Intern will join the culinary team at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius, supporting the preparation and production of high‑quality dishes in a luxury hotel environment. This 45‑hour per week internship offers hands‑on experience across all kitchen operations, from daily service to special events.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and mise en place following hotel recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment and utensils.
• Follow HACCP and food safety procedures at all times.
• Support chefs during breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets and special events.
• Receive, store and rotate food supplies using the FIFO method.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of food items to minimise waste.
• Comply with hotel policies, grooming standards and health & safety regulations.

Required profile

• Passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn in a luxury hospitality setting.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen and follow detailed instructions.
• Commitment to hygiene, safety and high standards of food quality.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to take direction from senior chefs.
