Project Specialist – Compliance Strategic Business Unit

About the role

The Compliance Strategic Business Unit (SBU) at MCB is seeking a Project Specialist to support the Project Lead in coordinating initiatives that strengthen compliance and risk management. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing projects, initiatives, and process/system reviews, leveraging AI where appropriate.
• Report progress, challenges, and impacts to the Project Lead, Project & Analytics Team Leader, and Group Head of Compliance.
• Design and propose solutions to improve efficiency within the Compliance SBU.
• Facilitate working sessions and collaborate with subject‑matter experts to define clear project requirements.
• Act as liaison between project teams and end‑users, gathering feedback and escalating issues.
• Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders to support informed decision‑making.
• Partner with the Data Analytics team on data‑related aspects of projects.
• Support project resources to meet quality standards, budget, and deadlines.
• Prepare reports for compliance management and committees.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices in compliance and project management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or certification in Business Administration, Financial Services, Technology, Data Analytics, Project Management, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of project management experience in the banking or financial sector.
• Strong planning, prioritisation, and partnership‑building abilities.
• Excellent written communication tailored to different audiences.
• Proven ability to achieve results under challenging circumstances.
