Senior Backend Software Developer – Talent Platform

About the role

Dayforce is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Software Developer to join the Talent Product Development team. You will help build the next generation of AI‑powered, cloud‑native Human Capital Management solutions that serve millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into scalable backend designs that deliver business value.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, Test Engineers, UX Designers and fellow engineers.
• Provide technical leadership for backend architecture, ensuring long‑term scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Design and optimise distributed backend systems using caching, partitioning, queuing and performance‑engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews and drive improvements in code quality.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency through automation, AI‑assisted development and DevOps practices.
• Own backend feature development from concept through deployment.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering large‑scale, cloud‑native backend services.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for complex distributed‑system challenges.
• Ability to work closely with global teams during core hours and communicate technical decisions clearly.
• Experience guiding architecture evolution and mentoring junior engineers.
