Senior Java Architect – Lead Technical Projects

About the role

As a Senior Java Architect you will take the technical lead on complex projects, ensuring high‑quality delivery and providing coaching across multiple teams. You will work closely with the Switzerland Architect to define and challenge solution designs, while continuously upskilling yourself and representing ELCA at external events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design of new Java‑based projects and validate proposed solutions.
• Coach and mentor team members and new joiners on technical standards and best practices.
• Review code, documentation and release notes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate risks early, propose process improvements and drive continuous learning.
• Communicate technical KPIs to project managers and act as the primary technical point of contact.
• Contribute to the Technology Expertise Center by training developers and participating in brown‑bag sessions.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in Java software development and architecture.
• Strong certification or demonstrable expertise in the relevant technology area.
• Ability to coach teams, challenge specifications constructively and promote best practices.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying up‑to‑date with industry trends.
