Tax Resolution Specialist IV

About the role

Dayforce is seeking a Tax Resolution Specialist IV to act as a liaison between clients and tax agencies. The role involves preparing and processing tax amendments, researching agency notices, and ensuring compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve and process tax jurisdiction correspondences and amendment forms, ranging from simple to complex cases.
• Analyze issues that trigger out‑of‑compliance notifications and respond promptly to tax authority inquiries.
• Prepare and file original or amended federal, SSA, state, and local tax returns.
• Maintain ongoing communication with taxing agencies to obtain necessary information for filings.
• Negotiate with agencies and clients to reach satisfactory resolutions while minimizing penalties.
• Collaborate with internal departments to remove barriers, establish service level agreements, and improve tax service processes.

Required profile

• Associate degree or equivalent education.
• 1–3 years of experience in tax, payroll, or accounting.
• American Payroll Association certification (preferred).
• Strong analytical and research abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Experience with tax amendment preparation and filing.
• Ability to interpret agency notices and resolve discrepancies.
