About the role
Apex Group is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for a portfolio of over 40 clients. You will ensure accurate, timely payments, compliance with UK payroll regulations, and high‑quality service delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Process payrolls from start to finish for a large client portfolio.
- Second‑check payrolls processed by the team to guarantee accuracy.
- Prepare employee and partner net‑pay transfers and third‑party payments.
- Generate partner statements and conduct post‑payroll checks.
- Liaise with pension providers, especially for Auto‑Enrolment processes.
- Maintain regular UK communication, status updates, and meet payroll calendar deadlines.
- Ensure HMRC filing and payment deadlines are met.
- Perform initial reconciliation of client monies and daily bank reconciliations.
- Provide ad‑hoc support to team members and cover payrolls during absences.
- Stay up‑to‑date with technical developments and share knowledge with the team.
