Analyst II, Transaction Monitoring and Screening

About the role

As an Analyst II in Transaction Monitoring and Screening, you will be on the front line defending Checkout.com’s ecosystem against financial crime. You will investigate complex merchant and consumer payment patterns to detect money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud, and ensure suspicious activity is reported in line with global regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end investigations on high‑complexity alerts using internal data and external OSINT tools.
• Manage a queue of high‑priority cases, documenting rationales and escalating when necessary.
• Draft high‑quality SARs/STRs for review by the MLRO.
• Identify emerging typologies and red‑flags to improve detection rules.
• Conduct enhanced due diligence on high‑risk accounts or merchants.
• Collaborate with QC, FIU, and Product Engineering to enhance alert quality.
• Mentor junior analysts and act as a subject‑matter expert for complex cases.
• Ensure all reviews meet regulatory timelines and internal SLAs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience handling escalated or complex transaction monitoring alerts.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under strict regulatory timelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with OSINT tools for investigative research.
• Experience drafting SARs/STRs.
