Assistant Accountant (Client Accounting)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to manage a portfolio of company and trust entities. The role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring tax and VAT compliance, and supporting cash‑flow management while collaborating with auditors and external advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file financial statements for each entity.
• File APS, CTX, TDS and other statutory returns with regulators.
• Ensure entities meet their tax and VAT obligations.
• Oversee consolidation of accounts to meet reporting deadlines.
• Conduct solvency analysis and prepare board resolutions.
• Create monthly and annual financial reports, forecasts and trend analyses.
• Manage cash flow, track transactions and review internal reports.
• Suggest improvements to accounting and invoicing systems.
• Liaise with auditors, respond to audit queries and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare budgets, cash‑flow projections and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Monitor creditor and debtor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Train junior accounting staff and assist with investment proposals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum ACCA Level 2 or ACA Professional Level.
