Billing Intern

About the role

Join DHL Global Forwarding in Port‑Louis as a Billing Intern and support the finance team in ensuring accurate freight invoicing and payment processing. You will work closely with internal departments and customers to resolve billing issues and help maintain smooth financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Audit freight bills for accuracy, verify charges against contracts and spot quotes, and identify billing errors.
• Manage invoice disputes, correct discrepancies, and handle accounts payable processes.
• Process weekly billing sheets, maintain approval logs and status dashboards, and respond to customer inquiries on accessorial charges.
• Clear invoice rejections, investigate missing documentation, and ensure compliance with customer billing requirements.
• Reconcile and apply customer payments to outstanding invoices, and follow up on accounts receivable.

Required profile

• Clear understanding of forwarding industry needs and solid knowledge of DGF products (AFR/OFR) and related business models.
• Experience in customer management.
• Well‑developed communication and presentation skills.
