Category and Brand Manager – Convenience Retail

About the role

The Category and Brand Manager for Convenience Retail will lead the launch of new stores and oversee daily operations to meet national targets. You will ensure compliance with brand, operational, merchandising, and HSSE standards through regular audits and asset counts. Working closely with marketing and the retail business, you will keep the brand relevant and aligned with its promise while driving profitability across the shop network.

Key responsibilities

• Define and develop strategic category plans for the shop network and ensure continuous compliance.
• Monitor market and competitor behaviour, proposing alternative customer offers.
• Standardise space layout, pricing, and assortment strategy by store type and buying missions.
• Draw and monitor planograms by product category in line with merchandising strategy.
• Manage supplier contracts, ensuring adherence to terms, delivery standards, rebates, and purchasing.
• Coordinate supply‑chain strategy daily, handling administrative tasks related to contracts.
• Train, motivate and coach shop staff, merchandisers and dealers to increase profitability.
• Analyse P&L data, identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize the supplier portfolio to maximise value for consumers, retailers and the company.
• Conduct food quality and hygiene audits for food partners, ensuring brand standards.
• Negotiate terms with suppliers, arrange promotions and provide shop promotional support.
• Create and execute brand strategies, managing existing portfolios and new product launches.
• Lead marketing project management, creative development, campaign tracking and reporting.
