Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric & BI

About the role

The Data Engineer will join BIA Group’s Business Intelligence team in Mauritius, providing technical expertise to design, develop and maintain BI solutions that support the company’s reporting and analytics needs across its global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into data‑warehousing, lakehouse and reporting solutions.
• Design, develop and optimise BI reporting solutions using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.
• Deploy reports and BI deliverables on appropriate portals and platforms.
• Maintain technical specifications and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents affecting BI systems to guarantee continuity.
• Collaborate with functional teams and Data Stewards through workshops to gather and validate requirements.
• Monitor data flows, perform scheduled data loads and support process‑chain optimisation.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand and document business processes.
• Experience in designing and implementing data‑warehousing or lakehouse architectures.
• Proven ability to work in project mode and handle maintenance tasks.
• Good communication skills for interaction with functional teams and stakeholders.
