Island Room Manager

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Island Room Manager to lead food, beverage, recreation and entertainment operations for a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence and compliance with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of food service, beverage, recreation and entertainment activities.
• Develop and enforce operational processes, standards, and quality controls.
• Supervise, train and mentor staff across all service areas.
• Plan and execute recreational events that meet patron interests.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance for all food and beverage operations.
• Monitor costs, manage budgets and control inventory.
• Coordinate vendor orders and maintain supply levels.
• Liaise with government representatives and stakeholders for special events and issue resolution.
• Analyze customer feedback and implement service improvements.
• Respond to emergencies within one hour of notification.
• Maintain accurate operational records and reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management or related field, OR three years of relevant business management experience.
• Minimum five years of middle‑manager experience in a civilian commercial setting overseeing food, beverage, entertainment or recreation operations.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and deliver high‑quality service.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling and vendor management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
