Jake’s Place Manager – Operations & Hospitality

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Jake’s Place Manager to lead recreation, dining, beverage, and entertainment services for a unique U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role ensures high‑quality experiences for patrons while meeting mission requirements and government standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage food, beverage, entertainment, and recreational activities in compliance with contract and safety regulations.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize efficiency.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff to deliver excellent service.
• Monitor customer satisfaction, collect feedback, and continuously improve offerings.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation to meet revenue goals.
• Maintain inventory of food, beverages, supplies, and equipment, ensuring accurate stock levels.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met, including food handling and sanitation protocols.
• Coordinate events with government representatives and respond to emergencies within one hour of notification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality, food services, or related field, OR at least three years of relevant experience.
• Minimum five years of middle‑manager experience in a civilian commercial hospitality or recreation setting.
• Proven ability to manage operational budgets, control costs, and achieve financial targets.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid passport (minimum one‑year validity) and ability to obtain required visas and security clearances.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Point‑of‑Sale (POS) systems.
• Experience using inventory management software.
• Ability to generate and interpret financial reporting software outputs.
