Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for delivering a premium, seamless guest experience through exceptional cleanliness and visual standards onboard. This role requires strong hospitality, communication, and organizational abilities to lead a diverse crew.

Key responsibilities

• Own the overall guest experience related to cleanliness, ensuring premium service execution.
• Maintain and monitor housekeeping standards in line with company safety, quality, and environmental policies.
• Lead, train, and develop supervisors and crew, fostering a positive work environment and strong floor presence.
• Manage budgeting, inventory, cost containment, and future ordering for housekeeping supplies.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years progressive housekeeping managerial experience, preferably in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship.
• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field (preferred).
• Knowledge of talent assessment, quality service standards, and crew development.
• Ability to communicate diplomatically with managers and staff to resolve issues.

Required skills

• Expertise in cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Excel, Word, and industry systems (SQM, OCIMS, Fidelio, LGA, Medallia, Kronos).
• Budgeting, cost‑containment, inventory and procurement management.
• Understanding of HR policies and progressive disciplinary processes.
