Operations Manager – Industrial Laundry

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead Washright Services, the industrial laundry arm of Sunlife’s hospitality portfolio. This hands‑on position is fully accountable for production, service quality, plant reliability, hygiene, safety compliance and cost performance across multiple resort properties.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily laundry production, scheduling, throughput and turnaround times to meet each property’s service level agreements.
• Oversee linen inventory using RFID tracking, controlling loss and ensuring accurate movement data.
• Lead the operational workforce through shift planning, performance management, recruitment and development in partnership with the Talent Experience function.
• Ensure equipment reliability via preventive maintenance planning, an up‑to‑date register and effective contract management.
• Maintain hygiene, infection‑control and health‑safety standards, including chemical handling, incident reporting and corrective actions.
• Control cost per unit processed by monitoring water, energy and chemical consumption and preparing monthly performance reports.
• Drive continuous improvement using 5S, visual management, Kaizen, standard work and Lean Six Sigma tools.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or related field with at least 7 years of commercial/industrial laundry experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume production, meet quality and turnaround commitments across multiple sites.
• Hands‑on leader who develops supervisors and teams and communicates effectively with stakeholders.
• Experience with laundry equipment management, preventive maintenance planning and CMMS systems.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, hygiene and chemical‑handling requirements in an industrial setting.
