Wealth Banker – Relationship Management & Business Development

About the role

A member of the Wealth Team responsible for relationship management, sales and business development of a portfolio of wealth clients, building long‑term relationships founded on efficient and reliable support. Required to retain and increase revenue generation from existing clients whilst also growing the portfolio by identifying cross‑selling opportunities and winning new business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client portfolios of ultra‑high‑net‑worth individuals, including individual accounts and special purpose vehicles.
• Develop and maintain existing relationships, continuously identifying further business opportunities and cross‑selling.
• Market the bank’s full range of products and services using strong presentation skills.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk and internal policies, including AML, KYC and credit monitoring.
• Represent Absa Wealth at conferences, industry gatherings and real‑estate roadshows.
• Prepare credit applications, loan and mortgage agreements and address client queries.
• Coach, support and develop junior team members and promote best practices across the bank.

Required profile

• Proven senior banking leadership experience with a global mindset and business‑building track record.
• In‑depth understanding of the regulatory environment, fiduciary and suitability requirements.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant banking experience at managerial level (or equivalent).
• University degree; postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of wealth products and services, both banking and non‑banking.
