Accounts Clerk

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Clerk to manage both accounts receivable and payable functions, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and compliance with Mauritian tax regulations. The role involves handling customer invoices, supplier payments, bank reconciliations, and petty cash management.

Key responsibilities

• Record and post customer receipts against invoices and maintain accurate customer accounts.
• Review accounts receivable ageing, resolve billing queries and support month‑end close.
• Receive, verify and post supplier invoices, prepare payment runs and maintain supplier records.
• Perform accounts payable reconciliations, resolve invoice discrepancies and support month‑end close.
• Apply and account for Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) on both customer and supplier payments in line with Mauritian regulations.
• Reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger, investigate differences and ensure proper documentation.
• Manage petty cash, record transactions, perform reconciliations and arrange reimbursements.

Required profile

• Financial qualification (Diploma or Degree) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience handling foreign currencies is an advantage.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – intermediate level.
• SAP S/4HANA (ERP) – practical experience.
