Accounts Officer

About the role

HFM is looking for a driven Accounts Officer to support its finance function. You will handle day‑to‑day accounting tasks, ensure accurate financial reporting, and assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions such as journal entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier payments and statement reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and maintain the fixed‑asset register.
• Prepare variance analysis reports comparing actuals versus budget and provide commentary.
• Ensure balance‑sheet and P&L accuracy with proper supporting documentation.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close, including VAT, TDS, APS and FY tax filings.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide required schedules and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• ACCA qualification in progress is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
