ALM Lead – Asset & Liability Management

About the role

Reporting to the ALM Manager within a bank, the ALM Lead will head the Asset and Liability Management desk, driving process improvements and operational excellence while adhering to regulatory guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to optimise the bank’s balance sheet, profitability, and structural efficiency.
• Lead initiatives related to product pricing and competitor pricing analysis.
• Manage the bank’s liquidity, funding, and interest‑rate exposures.
• Identify potential risks early and recommend proactive measures to maintain balance‑sheet resilience.
• Provide dashboards, analysis, and recommendations to support ALCO and strategic balance‑sheet decisions.
• Oversee the investment book and identify gaps or opportunities to improve profitability, liquidity, and risk management.
• Ensure balance‑sheet activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks.
• Collaborate with Risk, Finance, Treasury, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated balance‑sheet oversight.
• Support implementation of appropriate remedial actions.

Required profile

• At least a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a similar field.
• Professional qualification such as ACI Dealing Certificate/Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Treasury, ALM department or a banking environment.
