Analyst II, Transaction Monitoring and Screening

About the role

As an Analyst II in Transaction Monitoring and Screening, you will be on the front line defending Checkout.com’s ecosystem against financial crime. You will lead deep‑dive investigations of complex alerts, identify emerging typologies, and ensure suspicious activity is reported in line with global regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end investigations on complex transaction monitoring alerts using internal data and external OSINT tools.
• Manage a high‑priority case queue, documenting rationales and escalating or clearing cases within strict SLAs.
• Draft high‑quality SARs/STRs for review by the MLRO and conduct enhanced due diligence on high‑risk accounts.
• Identify new financial‑crime typologies and provide feedback to improve automated detection rules.
• Collaborate with Quality Control, FIU, and Product Engineering teams to enhance alert quality and system effectiveness.
• Mentor junior analysts as a subject‑matter expert on complex investigative techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Law, Criminology or a related field.
• Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on AML transaction monitoring or financial‑crime investigation experience in fintech or banking.
• Strong analytical ability to connect disparate data points and uncover complex money‑laundering schemes.
• Exceptional written communication skills for clear, concise investigative narratives.
• Solid knowledge of FIAMLA, FATF AML/CFT standards and relevant global regulations.
• Preferred ACAMS or ICA certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with transaction‑monitoring platforms such as Napier, Featurespace or proprietary tools.
• Experience using data‑visualisation tools for investigative analysis.
• Use of OSINT tools for external data gathering.
