Assistant Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Accountant will join CIEL's Group Finance function, supporting accurate and timely accounting, reporting and finance operations across the Group. You will work closely with finance teams to ensure month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end processes are completed on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal preparation, accruals and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review bank, intercompany and balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain audit trails.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and financial information.
• Collect, validate and analyse financial data for the Group consolidation process, including intercompany matching and eliminations.
• Maintain accounting schedules, registers and supporting documentation in line with internal controls.
• Coordinate with finance teams to follow up on reporting requirements, audit requests and outstanding finance matters.
• Support internal and external audit preparation and implementation of audit recommendations.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives, finance transformation projects and ERP system developments.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting for strategic projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting or finance operations.
• ACC A Level 2 / partially qualified ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
