Assistant Front Office Manager

About the role

The Assistant Front Office Manager supports the Front Office team at a leading luxury resort in Mauritius, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional guest experiences. This role combines leadership, administrative oversight, and direct guest service responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all Front Office operations, maintaining standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and service quality.
• Produce administrative and statistical reports for the Rooms Division Manager and manage annual vacation planning and time‑keeping.
• Handle guest complaints promptly, ensuring resolution within 24 hours and communication with relevant departments.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date guest history system and ensure staff follow shift procedures, handovers, and briefings.
• Roster staff according to business needs, conduct performance appraisals, and provide systematic training.
• Monitor cashiering, float balances, and accounting procedures through weekly spot checks.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping to optimise room availability and support over‑booking strategies to maximise occupancy and average rate.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in the hotel industry, preferably in a luxury resort setting.
• Secondary education plus relevant training or certificates in hospitality management.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electronic hotel reservation systems.
• Understanding of payroll management.
• Understanding of inventory management.
