Associate Tax Consultant

About the role

The Associate Tax Consultant will support Apex Group’s clients by ensuring accurate tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on Mauritian tax matters. This junior‑level position offers exposure to a wide range of tax computations, filings, and regulatory interactions, providing a solid foundation for a career in taxation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prepare tax, PAYE, TDS, CSG and VAT computations and returns.
• Coordinate internal teams to ensure timely filing of quarterly and annual tax returns.
• Monitor client tax compliance, produce KPI reports and maintain taxation processes.
• Assist with internal training sessions and preparation of tax technical papers.
• Maintain a database of MRA rulings, domestic tax cases and relevant international rulings.
• Track filing deadlines and support health‑check and compliance reviews.
• Handle MRA queries, liaise with clients and draft response letters.
• Conduct research on domestic and international tax issues and analyse legislative changes.
• Perform tax analysis on Mauritian tax matters and summarise findings.
• Undertake any other duties communicated by managers or directors.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in the global business sector, familiar with various vehicle structures.
• Degree holder or progressing towards ACA/ACCA qualification; fresh graduates with strong academic records are welcome.
• Keen interest in taxation and exposure to tax computations.
• Basic understanding of Mauritian tax legislation.
• Strong analytical, numerical and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Good written and verbal communication, ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a team‑oriented environment.
