Back Office Support – Payments & Settlement Operations

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Back Office Support professional to join our payments and settlement team. You will ensure smooth processing of settlement files, reconcile accounts, and support clients with operational queries in a fast‑moving financial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process clearing of incoming and outgoing settlement files for various card associations.
• Evaluate foreign‑currency net positions and convert them to the reporting currency.
• Investigate and resolve rejected transactions, taking remedial actions to improve operational efficiency.
• Reconcile General Ledger, intermediary, and profit & loss accounts, justifying closing balances.
• Highlight corrective actions for intermediary accounts to the Clearing & Settlement team.
• Review and escalate long‑outstanding items to prevent overvaluation of GL accounts.
• Participate in end‑of‑month meetings with clients.
• Process chargebacks, representments, fee collections, and refunds promptly.
• Maintain the chargeback log, perform fraud monitoring, and communicate alerts to clients.
• Monitor network bulletins and liaise with enhancement teams or clients as needed.
• Handle operational issues and customer complaints efficiently.
• Prepare process flow documentation and support related projects.

Required profile

• Partly ACCA qualified or equivalent finance/accounting qualification.
• 2‑3 years of proven experience in the banking or finance sector.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong planning, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
