Chef de Partie

About the role

The Chef de Partie will lead a specific kitchen section in a luxury hotel environment, ensuring high‑quality preparation and presentation of dishes while supporting smooth service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a designated kitchen section (e.g., hot line, pastry, garde‑manger).
• Prepare and present dishes according to standardized recipes and 5‑star presentation standards.
• Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and overall quality.
• Supervise, guide and train Commis chefs and junior kitchen staff.
• Coordinate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef during service.
• Keep the work area clean, organized and compliant with HACCP and food‑safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels, report shortages and assist with ordering supplies.
• Control food costs by minimizing waste and ensuring proper portioning.
• Support banquet operations, buffets, special events and step in to assist other sections when needed.
• Participate in menu planning, recipe development and food tastings.

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional experience.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
• Strong attention to hygiene, food safety and HACCP standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team, punctual and professionally groomed.
• Willingness to attend training, briefings and staff meetings.

Required skills

• Culinary Arts certification.
• Proficiency in cooking techniques across hot, cold and pastry stations.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures.
