Claims Assistant

About the role

Safelane Insurance Brokers Ltd is seeking a motivated Claims Assistant to support its motor claims operations. You will act as a key liaison between insurers, clients, and internal teams, ensuring claims are processed efficiently and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Verify policy status, coverage, terms, conditions, and exclusions for motor claims.
• Register new motor claims and follow up with insurers according to company procedures.
• Liaise with clients to collect required claim information and supporting documentation.
• Monitor claim progress, keep clients informed, and coordinate settlement communications.
• Facilitate allocation of replacement vehicles when applicable, in partnership with insurers.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date claim files within company records.
• Track claim timelines and escalate any delays to the Claims Officer or Manager.
• Provide general administrative support to the Claims Department as needed.

Required profile

• High School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar claims or insurance support role.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to multitask under deadlines.
• Excellent customer service orientation and positive attitude.
• Effective teamwork, time‑management, and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
