Client Accountant

About the role

Kreston TSS is seeking a Client Accountant to join its Mauritius office. The role involves managing a portfolio of clients, preparing their financial statements and tax returns, and providing day‑to‑day accounting support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts, financial statements and tax returns for assigned clients.
• Respond to client queries on accounting, income tax, PAYE, VAT and related technical issues.
• Assist with audit engagements and compile required financial information.
• Ensure efficient workflow and timely execution of tasks across the department.
• Supervise junior staff to guarantee compliance with accounting, audit and statutory regulations.
• Provide regular status updates to supervisors, managers and partners.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by senior team members.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting or ACCA Level 2 completed (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting and account preparation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of accounting software (experience with any commercial package is advantageous).
