About the role
The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team at Four Seasons Mauritius, handling food preparation, hygiene, and assisting line cooks to ensure high-quality guest experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Executes tasks assigned by superiors and maintains a clean, safe work area.
- Prepares mise‑en‑place, bases, ingredients, stocks, and dressings.
- Cleans and processes raw products, follows standard recipes, and adheres to food service timelines.
- Assists and trains with line cooks, participates in briefings, and supports colleagues during busy periods.
Required profile
- Technical education in hospitality or culinary school.
- Minimum 1 year kitchen experience in a 5‑star hotel or resort.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Strong technical kitchen skills and aptitude for growth.
Required skills
- Food hygiene and safety standards.
- Safe Step Training certification.
