Compliance Assurance Manager

About the role

The Compliance Assurance Manager will lead the design, execution and oversight of ABML's compliance monitoring and testing programme. Reporting to the Head of Monitoring, Testing and Training, the role ensures that compliance risks are managed in line with group policies, local regulations and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee a comprehensive compliance monitoring and testing programme across the bank.
• Conduct conformance reviews of key risk areas, applying a predefined compliance methodology.
• Document processes, identify risks and controls using the audit tool, and evaluate their design and operating effectiveness.
• Perform testing, draft findings reports, and develop action‑plan recommendations aligned with the Risk and Issue Classification Matrix.
• Maintain and update the audit tool with working papers and ensure sign‑off before final reporting.
• Develop testing methodologies and reporting frameworks that meet regulatory requirements.
• Execute annual compliance self‑assessment reviews and leverage data analytics for deeper insights.
• Provide regular progress updates and senior‑management reports, including monthly and quarterly MI.
• Supervise the compliance testing team, ensure quality control, and manage multiple reviews concurrently.
• Perform ad‑hoc compliance reviews as requested by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of banking compliance, regulatory frameworks and internal control environments.
• Proven experience in designing and executing compliance monitoring and testing programmes.
• Ability to analyse complex processes, assess risks and document findings clearly.
• Excellent report‑writing skills and experience presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Capability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and follow‑up on action plans.
