About the role
The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining the company's Compliance and Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) policies and controls. It ensures the firm operates within DFSA regulations and maintains all required licences.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, document and update the Compliance and AML manuals, ensuring all employees follow the rules and procedures.
- Manage the Compliance/AML function in line with DFSA requirements and company policies.
- Liaise with regulators for applications, periodic reports, and DFSA risk‑assessment visits.
- Monitor day‑to‑day compliance activities, including client acceptance, regulatory returns, and complaints handling.
- Investigate and report compliance breaches to the Board and, when required, to regulatory authorities.
- Maintain records of all declarations, assessments and correspondence related to the company's operations.
- Oversee KYC procedures, SAR reporting and ensure appropriate AML training for staff.
Required profile
- Master’s degree with relevant professional AML/compliance qualifications.
- 8+ years of experience in compliance, risk or audit within a financial‑institution environment.
- Proven experience in private banking or wealth management compliance is preferred.
- Strong understanding of compliance standards, regulations and risk assessment.
