Electrician (Hotel Maintenance)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Electrician to join the engineering team at Constance Le Chaland, a luxury hotel on the south‑eastern coast of Mauritius. The role focuses on ensuring all electrical and related mechanical systems operate reliably to support a high‑standard hospitality experience.

Key responsibilities

• Minimise breakdowns of electrical equipment across the property.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain HVAC, ventilation, sanitary and water‑treatment systems.
• Maintain electrical services for boilers, hot‑water generators, swimming‑pool equipment, kitchen and laundry appliances, fire‑fighting systems and emergency generators.
• Service lighting throughout guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house, cold rooms and car parks.
• Inspect and tighten bolts, screws, nuts and belts on all machinery.
• Maintain power‑supply infrastructure including transformers, switchgear, control panels, motors, wiring, starters, isolators and safety devices.
• Maintain audio‑visual equipment and report any malfunction immediately.
• Respond to fire alarms and other emergencies, and perform general building maintenance.
• Coordinate with engineering operations and follow instructions from supervisors.

Required profile

• Middle or secondary education; additional technical training or certificates are a plus.
• Minimum 1 year of electrical maintenance experience in a hotel or luxury resort environment.
• Good knowledge of safety procedures, legal regulations and guidelines related to electrical work.

• Audio‑visual equipment servicing.
• Basic welding for equipment repairs.
