Entry-Level Fund Accountant (Accountant 1)

About the role

As an Accountant 1 within the Fund Accounting team, you will build foundational expertise while supporting accurate and timely accounting services for a portfolio of funds. This entry‑level position focuses on structured processes, routine transactions, and core reporting activities, working under guidance and developing technical knowledge to deliver high‑quality client outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare basic financial statements, NAV calculations and supporting deliverables following established guidelines.
• Process daily fund accounting transactions such as bookkeeping entries, capital calls, distributions and investor notifications using designated systems.
• Maintain accurate records by reconciling transactions, preparing working papers and completing operational checklists.
• Support daily operations by tracking progress, completing timesheets, following workflows and escalating issues when required.
• Contribute to quality delivery through self‑reviews, assisting senior team members and participating in training and development activities.

Required profile

• Completed HSC with strong numerical skills and working towards ACCA/ACA (or equivalent) or hold a relevant degree.
• Some experience in accounting or bookkeeping, ideally within fund accounting or a shared services environment.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, with a desire to deepen fund accounting knowledge.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and reliable, with good time‑management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proactive, collaborative team player, open to feedback, eager to learn and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
