External Audit – Assistant Manager

About the role

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at The Docks Caudan in Port Louis. The Assistant Manager will plan and manage external audit engagements, reviewing both standalone and consolidated financial statements for clients across a range of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and execute external audit engagements, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and supervise audit teams, performing detailed testing of financial information and assessing internal controls.
• Draft and review audit reports, communicate findings and recommendations to clients, and support managers in managing timelines, budgets and quality.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, provide on‑the‑job training and performance feedback.
• Contribute to business development activities and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of financial statements and reporting frameworks such as IFRS, US GAAP and LUX GAAP.
• Several years of external audit experience, preferably at assistant‑manager or supervisory level in a professional services firm.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or progress toward such a qualification.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
• High level of integrity, professional scepticism and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in Excel and audit‑specific software tools.
