Financial Accountant

About the role

Hermes Properties is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team and support the day‑to‑day financial operations of the Tribeca Central Smart City project in Mauritius. Reporting to the Head of Business Unit / Financial Controller, you will ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with international accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file financial statements, tax returns and other statutory filings on time.
• Record financial transactions and maintain proper documentation in line with international accounting standards.
• Manage finance and administrative tasks such as opening/closing bank accounts, company incorporation, KYC procedures and filing company changes.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders (shareholders, directors, other departments) and external parties (banks, auditors, suppliers).
• Support business units with cash‑flow management, asset management, accounts payable and receivable.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, development, HR and administration departments.
• Ensure accounting and internal control procedures are followed and recommend improvements.
• Provide timely and accurate financial information for decision‑making, feasibility studies and audits.

Required profile

• Partly ACCA or ICAEW qualified, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Relevant experience in a similar finance/accounting role within industry.
• Team player with the ability to work under pressure.
• Motivated to learn, improve and take on new challenges.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international accounting standards.
• Experience with financial reporting, tax filing and statutory compliance.
• Understanding of cash‑flow, asset, payable and receivable management.
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
