Fund Accountant

About the role

The Fund Accountant will join Apex Group’s fund administration team, supporting hedge fund clients by calculating net asset values and ensuring accurate accounting records. This role offers exposure to a fast‑paced environment where precision and client communication are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly NAVs for hedge fund clients.
• Perform cash, position and market value reconciliations, investigating and resolving breaks.
• Review portfolio pricing, corporate actions and ensure correct booking in the accounting system.
• Reconcile dividends and interest with broker reports.
• Accrue and amortise management fees, financing fees and other non‑security related fees.
• Process non‑automated transactions, including OTC derivatives and related cash movements.
• Communicate NAV estimates, queries and reporting updates to clients and client service managers.
• Support audit activities, prepare financial statements and track audit issues to resolution.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as pricing, reporting, investor services and external auditors.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the fund industry.
• ACCA qualified, partially qualified, or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented, accurate and willing to learn new processes.
• Effective interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with fund accounting software (advantageous).
