Fund Operations Manager – Closed End Funds

About the role

Apex Group is seeking an experienced Manager to lead the fund operations team responsible for closed‑end funds. You will oversee the full lifecycle of funds, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and high‑quality service delivery across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team on all projects, assignments and ad‑hoc duties related to fund operations.
• Manage operational aspects of unit deliverables, including resource allocation and activity monitoring.
• Maintain high‑quality service delivery and oversee work quality of unit members.
• Review timesheets, balance capacity, and report operational updates to senior management.
• Identify training needs and communicate them to senior management.
• Assess business risks in the Global Business Sector and apply a risk‑minimisation mindset.
• Proactively identify operational risks, prescribe mitigation actions and escalate when necessary.
• Ensure portfolio companies comply with Mauritius Companies Act, Financial Services Act 2007, Code of Corporate Governance, Data Protection Act 2017, Securities Act 2005 and related regulations.
• Oversee licensing and regulatory filings for closed‑end funds with the Financial Services Commission.
• Manage fund lifecycle stages: formation, first closing, investment, exit and fund closure.
• Conduct customer due diligence (CDD) in line with AML Code and maintain updated CDD records.
• Participate in client meetings as required.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of fund administration, especially closed‑end funds.
• Experience with regulatory compliance in Mauritius and international jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead teams, manage resources and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Risk‑aware mindset with a proactive approach to operational risk mitigation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Mauritius Companies Act, Financial Services Act 2007, Code of Corporate Governance, Data Protection Act 2017, Securities Act 2005.
• Familiarity with AML regulations and customer due diligence procedures.
• Experience in managing fund lifecycle processes and regulatory filings.
