General Ledger Accountant

About the role

SD Worx is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to ensure the accuracy, completeness and compliance of its financial records. The role covers the full record‑to‑report cycle, from journal entry processing to statutory reporting, and works closely with global accounting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the general ledger in SAP S/4 Hana, ensuring accurate transaction processing.
• Review, post and reconcile journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments, provisions and reclassifications.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities and meet all deadlines.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and support audit schedules with documentation.
• Analyse financial results, explain significant variances and produce monthly management reports.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Collaborate with accounting colleagues across multiple countries to share best practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or ACCA Level 2.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS and statutory compliance.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
